For those of you that don't know, the color run is a very non-competitive 5K. The only requirement is that you wear a white shirt. You can run, walk, push strollers, wheelchair ride, scooter ride, etc. your way to the finish line. Every kilometer volunteers spray you with colored cornstarch of a different color. At the finish line, you toss a packet of colored cornstarch into the crowd of finishers. When you finish, you basically look like a kaleidoscope of colors!!
Lisa (my running buddy) and I have been looking forward to this for several months! We usually run marathons together, so a fun 5K was going to be a well deserved break from anything competitive. Last weekend she injured her leg and was put in a walking boot and, as we have seen my belly is expanding, so we decided to walk the race. Of course (because neither of us have good luck), it decided to pour the entire time. That made the entire thing even more fun! People were doing slip-n-slides at some of the color stations, jumping in puddles, and basically dancing in the rain! We had a blast and will definitely be doing this again non-injured and non-preggo!!
